The incident happened at the Chelsea training ground.

The Italian head coach expressed relief that no-one was hurt in the incident earlier this month at Chelsea’s Cobham training centre.

“It was an accident, an incredible accident,” Conte said on Friday.

“I was having my lunch when this happened. The wind brought a big (piece of) glass on my car.

“If in that moment there is a person very close to my car, I don’t know what (might have) happened.”

Conte was able to laugh off the incident, saying the damage to his modest car was “the last thing” on his mind.

The Premier League is back after a break in the action owing to the domestic cup fixtures and it’s time to mull over your Fantasy Premier League team again.

The Double Gameweek didn’t deliver the way many hoped, especially with Harry Kane drawing a blank over his two fixtures for Tottenham.

Manchester United face a comfortable tie against managerless Stoke City while Arsenal travel to Bournemouth. Meanwhile, Manchester City and Liverpool go head-to-head at Anfield as Chelsea host Leicester. Tottenham entertain a stubborn Everton defence.

Here are a few pointers to guide you ahead of Gameweek 23.

CAPTAIN – JESSE LINGARD | MANCHESTER UNITED |6.3M

Jesse Lingard was one of our picks to bring in a couple of Gameweeks ago and now it’s time to go one step further and hand the United man the captain’s armband.

The attacking midfielder has stepped up in the last month or so and Jose Mourinho’s faith in him continues to grow as a result. He’s provided returns in four of the last five GWs, managing two double-figure hauls over that period as well.

With Henrikh Mkhitaryan still struggling for form, Lingard has stepped up assumed responsibility in that attacking midfield role.

United face Stoke City at home who have sacked manager Mark Hughes and haven’t kept a clean sheet for 12 games in the league.

ALTERNATIVES

ROMELU LUKAKU (11.3m) hasn’t lived up to expectations and has blanked in the last four GWs but at home, against a weak Stoke defence and after being afforded a bit of a rest at long last, he must be considered.

ALVARO MORATA (10.5m) is in the same boat as the Belgian, wasting glorious opportunities of late. Despite his poor finishing, the Chelsea striker remains an intriguing option given the number of chances he gets on the end of. Facing Leicester at home, the Spaniard could finally deliver if he gets his finishing right.

BOLD CHOICE

MARKO ARNAUTOVIC (7.0m) is a slight doubt this weekend and that makes captaining him even more risky. He didn’t feature in West Ham’s last fixture away to Spurs but prior to that, he delivered returns in five of the previous six GWs.

TWO INS

LUKE SHAW | MANCHESTER UNITED | 4.9M

After being left out in the cold for so long, Mourinho has finally warmed to Luke Shaw, albeit out of necessity with Ashley Young still injured. He’s played the full ninety minutes in each of United’s last three league games, picking up two clean sheets. Not only is he a bargain at 4.9m but he also offers a differential, owned by just 0.8%.

SERGIO AGUERO | MANCHESTER CITY | 11.7M

A popular FPL mantra goes something like this – ‘If Aguero plays, Aguero scores’. It’s therefore crucial that you try to include the Argentine in your team if he’s certain to start. That hasn’t been the case for the last 18 months under Pep Guardiola but with Gabriel Jesus sidelined through injury for a while, Aguero is very much the undisputed focal point in City’s attack. Even with Liverpool away up next, you fancy him to get on the score sheet while there’s home fixtures to come against Newcastle and West Brom in the following two weeks.

Sergio Aguero

TWO OUTS

DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN| EVERTON | 5.5M

The Everton forward has been a popular budget signing this season but has now failed to deliver in six of his last seven outings. With the club recruiting Cenk Tosun from Besiktas for £27m, Dominic Calvert-Lewin could well see his playing time diminished.

XHERDAN SHAQIRI | STOKE CITY | 6.0M

Owned by 5.9% of FPL teams, Xherdan Shaqiri may be a victim of his environment but the fact remains that he hasn’t delivered in the last seven GWs. Stoke are in big trouble at the moment and it may be time to drop the Swiss.

Klopp says Liverpool are better off without Coutinho

Jurgen Klopp has admitted Liverpool “don’t have to replace” Philippe Coutinho and insists the club can still thrive this season without the Brazilian.

The German was resigned to losing the playmaker following his desire to join Blaugrana but feels the Merseysiders don’t exactly need to splurge in the market in order to find an immediate replacement.

Speaking ahead of his side’s clash with Manchester City on Sunday, Klopp said: “If we do it, it has to be the right decision. We don’t have to replace him as such, we will still have 11 players.

“I don’t want to sound disrespectful, he was here for five years, we will miss him. But we want to play good football without Phil.

“We had fantastic games with him and not so good games with him, and the same when he didn’t play.”
