Zamalek defender Ali Gabr is set to sign for West Brom after the Baggies reached an agreement over a move, the Egyptian side’s president Mortada Mansour has confirmed.
The Egyptian centre-back will likely join the Hawthorns club on loan initially, according to reports, and link-up with fellow Pharaoh international team-mate Ahmed Hegazi at the midlanders.
West Brom boss Alan Pardew has been seeking January transfer window reinforcements with the club currently struggling in the Premier League and immersed in a relegation battle.
Gabr was congratulated on the news by international team-mate, goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy, via Instagram – as well as a host of other Zamalek team-mates.
