  • Though the winter transfer window just passed and the summer window is still months down the road, that hasn’t stopped the chatter of players potentially being on the move.

Across the world of football, there remains plenty of activity and stories that have football fans talking.

Here, we look at five potential transfer candidates that could be heading elsewhere when the market reopens in June.

    SIMON MIGNOLET

    Simon Mignolet

    Benched: Simon Mignolet.

Napoli and Borussia Dortmund will do battle to sign the out-of-favour Liverpool goalkeeper this summer, according to DH.

The Belgian last featured for the Kop club in January and has lost his place to German Loris Karius in the first-team ranks at Anfield.

The 30-year-old, who has recently changed agents, is contracted to the Merseysiders until 2021 but is expected to leave at the end of the season.

Mignolet’s likely destination looks to be Serie A, with the Naples outfit keen to bring in the former Sunderland man to replace outgoing Pepe Reina. Dortmund, meanwhile, are focused on strengthening the shot-stopping position.

    ANTHONY MARTIAL

Is he staying or going? There’s speculation over Martial’s future.

The Red Devils will rebuff summer interest from Italian giants Juventus for the Frenchman’s signature.

Martial has lost his place in Jose Mourinho’s side to January signing Alexis Sanchez, but according to The Times, United don’t want to allow the forward to leave.

The ex-Monaco ace’s contract expires at the end of next season but so far talks have stalled over new terms.

It remains to be seen whether the Old Lady will launch a lucrative summer charge for the 22-year-old.

    Rising star: Sessegnon.

The Fulham prodigy has apparently revealed he wants to join Liverpool next season, the Daily Express reports.

At just 17, the left-back-cum-winger is attracting plenty of attention after a stellar season for the Championship side, with Chelsea and Tottenham also in the mix to sign him.

However, the Craven Cottage club will not allow the home-grown prospect to move cheaply and command at least £10m (Dh51m) up front, plus various, and lucrative, add-ons further down the line.

Interestingly, Ryan is the cousin of former West Brom man Stephane.
