  • Although Manchester United v Liverpool will be the main focus on Saturday, there are still plenty of other matches to take an interest in across the Premier League this weekend.

There should be particular attention paid to the bottom of the table as the relegation battle hots up.

Here we look ahead to the other six fixtures on Saturday.

    CHELSEA V CRYSTAL PALACE

Chelsea could be boosted by N’Golo Kante’s return after he missed out last weekend because of illness. Tiemoue Bakayoko is a doubt, while David Luiz has suffered a setback as he struggles to overcome a knee injury.

Crystal Palace will hand late fitness tests to Wilfried Zaha and Mamadou Sakho before Roy Hodgson selects his starting XI to face Chelsea.

The pair are nearing first-team returns following respective knee ligament and calf injuries, while Hodgson also has the on-loan Timothy Fosu-Mensah available again following his ineligibility against parent club Manchester United.

The Eagles could become only the second team to win three consecutive away Premier League games at Stamford Bridge, after Blackburn Rovers (1993/94 to 1995/96) – having won last April in west London and in August 2015.

    NEWCASTLE V SOUTHAMPTON

Newcastle midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has returned to training following a knee injury and will be assessed prior to Southampton’s visit.

Islam Slimani is still recovering from a thigh injury and Jesus Gamez remains out with an ankle problem.

Southampton will still be without captain Steven Davis for the trip to St James’ Park.

Nothern Ireland midfielder Davis has missed the last three games with a hamstring problem and faces at least another week on the sidelines.

Defender Maya Yoshida (knee) and striker Charlie Austin (hamstring) remain on the casualty list.

Only Tottenham (five) are on a longer current unbeaten away run in the Premier League than Southampton (four – W1 D3).

    EVERTON V BRIGHTON

The Toffees have secured 26 of their 34 points at home and while their record on the road – one Premier League win all season – has caused them problems, boss Sam Allardyce is looking for a reaction from his players.

“We have put a lot of pressure on ourselves because of the last two away results and we have to cope with that pressure and deliver for the fans,” he said ahead of the visit of Brighton, who have won five of their last seven matches.

Chris Hughton has no new selection problems ahead of the trip. Defender Ezequiel Schelotto was forced off following a heavy in challenge in last weekend’s win over Arsenal but he will be available to face the Toffees.

After picking up 10 points from a possible 12 in Allardyce’s first four games in charge (W3 D1 L0), the Toffees have earned just nine from the last 33 available (W2 D3 L6).

    WEST BROM V LEICESTER

Leicester boss Claude Puel insists there is no problem with Danny Simpson after he dropped the defender last weekend.

Midfielder Daniel Amartey was selected ahead of Simpson to play right-back against Bournemouth, a decision that backfired badly when Amartey went off with a hamstring injury after just 20 minutes and the position had to be filled by winger Marc Albrighton, who gave away the first-half penalty for Bournemouth’s goal in the 1-1 draw.

Amartey is now out for around a month so Puel must immediately turn back to Simpson for Saturday’s trip to West Brom

“It is not a difficult situation, it is just competition between players,” said the Foxes boss.

The home side has never previously won in the seven Premier League meetings between these sides, with five away wins and two draws. It’s the most played fixture in Premier League history in which there hasn’t seen a single win for the home side.

Danny Simpson may be brought back in by Claude Puel.

    WEST HAM V BURNLEY

West Ham will be without Winston Reid and Sam Byram with both men expected to miss the rest of the season with respective knee and ankle injuries.

Arthur Masuaku serves the last match of his six-game ban, with Andy Carroll and Pedro Obiang amongst other absentees.

Sean Dyche’s main selection dilemma looks to be whether to start Chris Wood for the first time since December. The striker returned from a knee injury as a half-time substitute in last weekend’s victory over Everton and scored the winning goal, and Dyche may be temped to start with Wood alongside Ashley Barnes up front.

Burnley have won just one of their last 16 away top-flight games against the Hammers (D3 L12), with that win coming in October 1973 (1-0).

Sam Vokes scored the winner the last time in a 2-1 win in the Championship in December 2011.

    HUDDERSFIELD V SWANSEA

Aaron Mooy and Elias Kachunga are both back in training for Huddersfield.

Australian midfielder Mooy is back after suffering a cut to his knee against Bournemouth. Kachunga is further away from a return but is back training following a knee ligament injury last year.

Veteran midfielder Leon Britton is Swansea‘s only injury concern for their first Premier League visit to Huddersfield.

Britton, who ended a four-month absence as a substitute in last weekend’s 4-1 win over West Ham, has been nursing a back problem and will be assessed before the trip north.

Renato Sanches (hamstring) remains out and Swansea are likely to be unchanged with the Ayew brothers – Andre and Jordan – in tandem up front.

Swansea are looking to do the league double over Huddersfield for the first time since 1992/93, when the two teams were in the third tier together.

Swansea have been revitalised by Carlos Carvalhal.
