Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, perhaps unsurprisingly, has had the biggest increase in his estimated transfer value over the last six months.

According to CIES Football Observatory’s latest research, the Egyptian international has seen his transfer value increase from €88.1 million back in September 2017 to €162.8m – an increase of more than €74m.

Only players who did not change team or extend their contract between September and March have been included in the rankings put together by CIES, with the transfer value estimates based on an exclusive algorithm developed by the Football Observatory research team.

Fellow Premier League stars Ederson and Leroy Sane, both of Manchester City, complete the top three, with the goalkeeper’s value increasing by €74.4m and Sane’s rising by €63m since September.

A third Manchester City star, Gabriel Jesus, is at number five (+€53.1m), while Salah’s Liverpool team-mate Joe Gomez is in at number six, having seen his price rise by €48.3m.

Kylian Mbappe of PSG (+€54.7m) and Florian Thauvin of Marseille (+€38.4m) are the two Ligue 1 representatives in the top ten, while Barcelona’s Paulinho (+€42.4m) is the only man from La Liga.

Serie A also have one star in the top ten, with Lazio’s Sergej Milinkovic-Savic seeing his value rise from €29.8m in September to €70.5m in March thanks to a string of fine performances.

The highest Bundesliga entrant is at number 12, with Dayot Upamecano of RB Leipzig seeing his value increase by €35.6m in the last six months.
