  • Eriksen was awarded the goal in question, but Kane insists he got a touch.

Tottenham have officially lodged an appeal with the Premier League to have their second goal against Stoke from Saturday’s 2-1 win awarded to striker Harry Kane.

Christian Eriksen was credited with the goal, his second of the match, but Kane insists the Dane’s free-kick grazed his shoulder before going in.

“I swear on my daughter’s life that I touched the ball,” the 24-year-old said, “but there’s nothing I can do.”

“If they turn it around, they turn it around. If they take my word, they take my word.

“It is what it is – the most important thing is that we won the game.”

Kane is locked in a battle with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah for the Golden Boot award.

If the league awards him the goal, he will be four behind Salah’s tally of 29.
