Manchester City star Patrick Roberts is close to joining La Liga side Girona on a season-long loan deal, Goal reports.
The 21-year-old, who featured for Pep Guardiola’s men stateside during pre-season, has spent the best part of two-and-a-half seasons at Celtic on loan, however, the Bhoys chose not to try and sign him permanently.
Roberts is now on the verge of switching to Girona, in a move which is likely to be completed this week.
Huddersfield were also in the running for the former Fulham man’s signature but he is said to want a new challenge in Spain.
