  • Aguero was the star of Gameweek 2.

Sergio Aguero stole the show as the Argentine’s hat-trick helped Manchester City thrash Huddersfield 6-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

It was champions’ stuff from Pep Guardiola‘s men as goals from Aguero, Gabriel Jesus, David Silva and an own goal, saw City make it two wins out of two in the Premier League.

Check out our Manchester City ratings from what was a sensational performance:

Ederson – Despite conceding, it was a fairly quiet afternoon for the Brazilian but got himself an unlikely assist when he picked out Aguero for his opener. 7

Aymeric Laporte – Nothing to fault from the 24-year-old Frenchman, who was strong defensively as well as going forward.

John Stones – Another strong performance by the England international. Gave Kompany good support, closing down any play that came his way. 7

Vincent Kompany – Didn’t have to be at his best given the ball was mainly at the other end, but did his job to clear any danger. 7

Ilkay Gundogan – Got himself forward as often as possible, linking play nicely with his team-mates. Will need to step up his efforts for the rest of the season. 6

Fernandinho: The Brazilian stuck to his job, stopping any Huddersfield attack that came his way. Greater tests await but job well done. 6

Bernardo Silva – Was lively on the other side of the wing and see why he is highly-rated by Guardiola. 7

David Silva: One of the most effective players on the pitch. Was consistently involved in passage play and a sensational free-kick goal was the icing on the cake. 8

Benjamin Mendy: The Frenchman caused all sorts of problems on the wing. Got himself two assists but it could have been more. 8

Gabriel Jesus: Should have scored twice in the first 10 minutes but showed his killer instinct, linking up with Mendy to strike and send out another reminder of his potential. 7

Sergio Aguero: After drawing blank against Arsenal last week, it was back to business for the Argentine. His first was an exquisite finish while his second was clinical. Completed his hat-trick but it could have been more. 9

    SUBS:

Riyad Mahrez: Came on for David Silva just after the Spaniard’s goal but the new signing didn’t have much of an impact. 6

Phil Foden: Replaced Gundogan with minutes to go. Nearly created a late opportunity. 5

Leroy Sane: On for Aguero and showed why he will be a key player when he was involved in City’s sixth goal. 7
