  • Ideal time: Now is the perfect time to use your January wildcard with key players like Yaya Toure and Wilfried Bony missing due to the African Cup of Nations and the Asian Cup.

Each week, Sport360 will bring you tips for the English Premier League's official fantasy football game. Fancy pitting your wits against us? Join the newly established "Sport360 Fans'" league using code 47463-715903.

We are halfway through the Fantasy Football season so that means you have a free wildcard to use during the January transfer window.

This wildcard comes at an ideal time because an array of talent has temporarily left the Premier League to represent their countries in either the African Cup of Nations or the Asian Cup.

    Notable absentees:

    • Yaya Toure (Manchester City)
    • Wilfried Bony (Swansea)
    • Mile Jedinak (Crystal Palace)
    • Papiss Cisse (Newcastle United)
    • Sadio Mané (Southampton)
    • Mame Biram Diouf (Stoke City)
    • Ki Sung-Yueng (Swansea)

With this in mind, Sport360 have selected the four best wildcard teams available. On average, Fantasy managers have 101.6m to play with. This is the figure that the teams below are worth. See what you think…

    Team 1 – 'Goals Galore'

This team contains two of the most deadliest strikers currently in the Premier League- Diego Costa and Charlie Austin. With Sergio Aguero out injured, the next best option is Robin van Persie who is starting to find his form again under Louis van Gaal. It will be surprising if he doesn't end up with 20 goals this season (he has currently scored eight). In midfield, these four stars have remarkably netted 32 goals so far. This team may have a poor defence but there are a colossal of goal threats at your disposal.

    Team 2 – 'Midfield Masterclass'

Similar to the last side in the respect that the defence isn't tasty but look at that midfield… It arugably has the five best midfielders in Fantasy Football and the best forward so far this season. From one of our latest fantasy articles, midfielders earn the most bonus points with the new change to the system, so this team could be the best shout when using your wildcard.

    Team 3 – 'Sensational Stalwarts'

This wildcard choice contains five excellent defenders that don't only get clean sheets on a consistent basis, but are also a goal threat. It is balanced with two of the most exciting wingers- Alexis Sanchez and Eden Hazard. Then the in-form Harry Kane and Diego Costa leading the line. Solid structure.

Team  4 – 'Dream Team Stars'

This team selection contains most of the highest point scorers so far this campaign. It is a safe wildcard choice if you want to score a productive amount on a consistent basis. However it doesn't contain many players that are rare choices which can make all the difference when catching the leaders. That would be the only issue.
