    1) SERGIO AGUERO (Man City) – 8.70

Who else! After a relatively slow start to the season, Aguero burst into life in some style against Newcastle with a remarkable 20-minute five-goal haul, the fastest in Premier League history. The Argentina striker is only the fifth player to score five in an EPL game, following in the footsteps of Andy Cole, Alan Shearer, Jermain Defoe and Dimitar Berbatov. Aguero's five goals in the 6-1 victory included a perfect hat-trick of header, left foot and right foot – the last of which was a divinely delicate chip over onrushing Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul.

    2) ALEXIS SANCHEZ (Arsenal) – 8.43

Another 20-minute football hurricane swept through Emirates Stadium on Sunday, as Arsenal blew Manchester United away with a 3-0 win. Alexis Sanchez played a key role for the Gunners, following up his hat-trick against Leicester last week with a brilliant brace against United. The first was a delightful backheel, as Alexis stole a march on Matteo Darmian to flick Mesut Ozil's centre past David de Gea, while his second was a rasping strike that flew beyond the Spaniard into the roof of the net.

    3) MESUT OZIL (Arsenal) – 8.11

Everything clicked for Arsenal on Sunday and Ozil enjoyed one of his finest games in red and white. He claimed an assist for Alexis Sanchez's opener before getting on the scoresheet himself to double the Gunners' lead, precisely passing the ball into the corner of the United goal. The creative heart of all of Arsenal's play, Ozil tormented United's backline in what was a superb individual display.

    4) SANTI CAZORLA (Arsenal) – 7.75

Having been sent off in Arsenal's last big game against Chelsea, Cazorla saw this as an opportunity to make amends and was at his metronomic best against United. More surprising was his sterling work defensively, with the Spaniard regularly tracking back to support Hector Bellerin. Ozil and Alexis may have stolen the headlines but Cazorla's steady presence allowed his more explosive team-mates to put United to the sword.

    5) KEVIN DE BRUYNE (Man City) – 7.70

De Bruyne appears to have quickly settled into life in the Premier League and was influential once again in City's demolition of Newcastle. The Belgian set up two of Aguero's goals – the first an incisive through ball that split the Magpies' defence wide open and the second a swivelling left-foot cross that put the ball on a plate for his Argentine team-mate. If that wasn't enough, he grabbed his fourth goal in five games, with a looping, acrobatic mid-air volley that left the Etihad crowd agog.
