The Albania captain was booked just 23 minutes in after a robust tackle on Blerim Dzemaili before being given his marching orders just 14 minutes later.
Slipping under pressure on the edge of the Albanian box, Cana produced a silly handball that gave the referee little option but to send him off.
Albania were already 1-0 down at the time, conceding just five minutes into proceedings after Fabian Schar’s header.
Cana’s ending off made live even more tricky for Albania as they aim to upset the apple cart in Group A.
