  • Who will win between Turkey and Czech Republic?

Ahead of their Group D clash in Lens on Tuesday, Czech and Turkey UAE-based fans give their verdict on the game.

To gain an insight into the mindset of the fans we asked UAE fans to share with us their predictions, likely line-ups and players to watch.

Do you agree or have they missed the mark? Use #360Fans to share with us your thoughts.

CZECH REPUBLIC – Ondřej Piškula (Football Coach, Dubai)

It looked like our tournament was dead and buried but the Czech players really showed their heart to earn a 2-2 draw against Croatia that has kept our tournament alive. Croatia may have dominated the game, but we showed that you can never rule out Czech Republic – we can be the equal to any rival.

We should feel confident against Turkey, after all we only lost narrowly to Spain while they were torn apart, losing 3-0. For them, Euro 2016 is basically over, but a win will give us great hope of progressing as one of the best third-place teams.

It is a real shame that we lost our captain and true leader Tomáš Rosický but we actually played many qualification games without him and did a great job so I believe we will manage in his absence. A victory is what we need and I am confident the players can rise to the occasion.

    PREDICTION: Czech Republic 2-0 Turkey

LIKELY CZECH REPULIC XI: Čech, Kadeřábek, Hubník, Sivok, Pudil, Darida, Plašil, Šural, Dočkal, Krejčí, Necid

CZECH REPUBLIC PLAYER TO WATCH: Vladimír Darida – He may not be all that visible on the pitch but his role is so important for our team. He is a tireless player with ability to win most of the tackles and deliver great passes to our midfielders or strikers.

TURKEY PLAYER TO FEAR: Arda Turan – We need to be aware of his qualities. The Barcelona player didn’t have many chances to show off his vast array of skills so far but this is because teams who played prepared well and eliminated his play.

WHERE TO WATCH THE GAME: Wavebreaker, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah Resort, JBR

TURKEY – Ozgur Buyukalaca (Business Development Manager, Dubai)

Turkey owe it to their fans and themselves to get at least one positive result in this tournament. It has been disappointing so far for Fatih Terim’s side and though Spain played well in the last game, Turkey just seemed to give up – we let them play around us and handed them a 3-0 win!

Arda Turan has been anonymous and he is not alone – none of our creative players have been up to scratch in France and it is such a shame.

I seriously don’t know how the Czechs got a draw out of the Croatia game because the performance was poor. Their recent performances should really give us confidence of securing a win in Lens and finishing the group stage, and most probably our tournament, on a high.

    PREDICTION: Czech Republic 1-2 Turkey

LIKELY TURKEY XI: Babacan; Gonul, Topal, Balta, Erkin; Inan; Calhanoglu, Tufan, Ozyakup, Turan; Tosun

TURKEY PLAYER TO WATCH: Hakan Calhanoglu – One of our best players in qualifying, he has struggled for form in France but his creativity and renowned ability from free-kicks can help us against Czech Republic.

CZECH REPUBLIC PLAYER TO FEAR: Peter Cech – The only genuinely world class player in the Czech side, Turkey will need to have their shooting boots on if they are to score their first goal of Euro 2016 against the giant Arsenal keeper.

WHERE TO WATCH THE GAME: The Media One Hotel, really great atmosphere.
