  • Milik missed an open goal

Arkadiusz Milik had a moment to forget in the opening minute of the Euro 2016 clash between Poland and Switzerland on Saturday.

Swiss goalkeeper Yann Sommer rushed out to thwart Robert Lewandowski when Johan Djourou’s poor back-pass let the Bayern Munich striker in.

Sommer managed to deny the Polish striker but could only clear the ball as far as Milik on the edge of the box. With the goal unmanned and plenty of time to work with however, the Ajax forward skewed his effort horribly wide.

The opportunity was a glorious one and the goal would have put the Poles in the driving seat early on.
