Portugal claimed the Euro 2016 title with victory over France in extra-time at the Stade de France, with Lille striker Eder an unlikely match-winner on the night.
Twitter and social media understandably went into meltdown at the result, achieved despite Cristiano Ronaldo departing the pitch injured after just 25 minutes.
Take a look at some ofย the best post-match social media reaction from the world of sport, media and celebrity:
Congratulations to Portugal. And congratulations to France as well. However. What a bad bad tournament. Pity.

People used to say that Portugal couldn't win a trophy because their players were too individualistic. Fernando Santos has built a team.

But Fernando Santos is better than Deschamps.
Harsh truth Is France were not good enough. Proper defending is part of the game. Portugal had that. Won ugly. Won't care. Bad tournament.
