UEFA on Friday named Greek Theodore Theodoridis as the new general secretary of the European football confederation after Gianni Infantino left to become head of FIFA.

Theodoridis, 50, was Infantino’s deputy general secretary. He joined UEFA in 2008 and had been in charge of relations with the European national associations.

The European football governing body added that no presidential election decision until CAS verdict on suspended current incumbent Michel Platini.

It was also announced that for the first time in their history, this year’s UEFA Champions League and Europa League finals would use goal-line technology.
