  • Jurgen Klopp saw off his old side.

Liverpool have beaten Borussia Dortmund 4-3 at Anfield and 5-4 on aggregate to reach the Europa League semi-finals.

Dejan Lovren scored a dramatic late winner to send the Kop into raptures and hand Jurgen Klopp victory over his old team.

Earlier, Henrikh Mkhitaryan had given Dortmund an early lead in the fifth minute before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made it 2-0 inside 10 minutes to hand the German side a perfect start.

Divock Origi pulled one back for Liverpool before Marco Reus looked to have put the game beyond doubt at 3-1 and 4-2 on aggregate before the English side launched a dramatic comeback.

Phillippe Coutinho registered and then Mamadou Sakho levelled the tie with 12 minutes left but Dortmund ahead on away goals.

That was until deep into injury time Lovren headed home a James Milner cross to send the Anfield faithful into raptures with a 91st minute winner.

Elsewhere, Shakhtar Donetsk advanced to the last-four with a 4-0 (6-1 aggregate) win over Portuguese side Braga.

Villarreal also progressed to Friday’s draw, as did Sevilla after beating Athletic on penalties (5-4).
