Real Madrid legend Alfredo Di Stefano has passed away in the Spanish capital, after suffering a heart attack near the club's Bernabeu home on Saturday.
Di Stefano, 88, is regarded as one of the club's finest ever players and led the club to enormous success in the 1950s.
He is the only man to have ever scored in five successive European Cup finals, each of which Real won between 1956-60.
The Argentina-born forward played for the club from 1953 and 1964, winning eight Primera Division titles alongside those five European titles.
He was voted European Footballer of the Year in 1957 and 1959 and is Madrid’s second highest scorer in history, behind Raul, with 307 goals in all competitions.
He also had two short spells as coach of the club and is their honorary president.
Internationally, he played mainly for Spain but also represented Argentina and Colombia.
