  • Back for good: Romelu Lukaku has signed a five-year deal at Everton.

Romelu Lukaku completed his club record move to Everton on Wednesday night and unsurprisingly the majority of Chelsea fans are not pleased by the Belgian striker's exit.

Since moving to Chelsea in the summer of 2011, Lukaku made just 15 appearances for the Blues, while spending two highly successful seasons out on-loan.

The 2012/13 campaign wielded 17 goals for West Brom as the Baggies secured their highest ever Premier League finish of eighth before a further 15 strikes for Everton last season helped the club a lofty fifth-place.

While Lukaku was scoring for fun elsewhere, Chelsea have witnessed a succession of strikers fail to find the net with any sort of regularity.

Fernando Torres has proved a monumental disaster since his British record £50m move from Liverpool in 2011, Demba Ba never showed the potency he displayed at Newcastle, and Samuel Eto'o spent much of his solitary season at Stamford Bridge trying to regain match fitness after two years spent in Russia.

While frustrating to watch Lukaku firing for another club last season, Chelsea fans would at least have taken some solice from the fact he would be returning to the club ready to play his part for the upcoming season.

Instead, the 21-year-old has sealed a club record £28m move to Everton where he has signed a five-year contract worth a reported £75,000 a week.

In a poll conducted by Sport360, 58 per cent of Chelsea fans believe Jose Mourinho should not have sold Lukaku and instead should have integrated the Belgian into his squad.

    Check out the results below:

Indeed fans based here in the UAE were strongly against it, with 85.71 per cent of the voters convinced Lukaku should have remained at Chelsea.

Interestingly, fans from the United Kingdom are among the biggest group who support Chelsea's decision to sell the former Anderlecht star, with 61.9 per cent believing he should leave, with the remaining 38.1 per cent eager for Lukaku to stay.

With his move to Everton signed, sealed and delivered, it will be up to Lukaku to prove which sets of fans are ultimately proved right!

For Chelsea, they will hope new-boy Diego Costa will help them forget about Lukaku's exit.
