  • Not happy: Seri.

Nice midfielder Jean Michael Seri is reportedly upset about his proposed move to Barcelona falling through and has subsequently been left out of the team’s squad to face Amiens on Saturday.

Seri’s transfer to Barcelona was on the verge of completion, with personal terms agreed, before the Catalan club decided to pull out of the move earlier this week.

Barcelona have since secured the transfer of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund for an initial €105million, and it’s unlikely they’ll renew their interest in Seri.

With Nice having been knocked out of the Champions League earlier this week at the qualifying stages, Seri’s move falling through means the Ivorian will not participate in Europe’s elite club competition this season, unless a separate transfer materialises.

After Saturday, Nice’s next match is on September 9, against Monaco, as there will be an international break after this round of fixtures. The club will hope Seri is ready to play by then.
