The new English Premier League season kicks off this weekend and the majority of football fans are still debating who to select for their fantasy team. In order to have the key players all managers desire, you must get some cheap squad members that can be relied upon if needed. Sport360°'s Scott Grayston picks his top five bargains that represent true value for money:

    1. GK- Tim Krul (Newcastle)- 4.5m

Tim Krul for 4.5m is a very attractive proposition in goal. Before last season, Newcastle were  dominant at St James' Park so if they can rediscover that form, Krul will earn a numerous amount of clean sheets. Also, after the World Cup, Krul is now renowned as a specialist penalty-saver after his heroics for Netherlands against Costa Rica. This could earn you some key points.

    2. DF- Alex Bruce (Hull City)- 4.0m

Alex Bruce plays a key role as sweeper in the 3-5-2 system that Hull City operate in. He may not score you many points from goals or assists but The Tigers should get a fair amount of clean sheets like they did last season. At 4.0m, he is a worthy acquisition- even if you just use him for Hull's easier opponents.

    3. DF- Ron Vlaar (Aston Villa)- 4.5m

Big Ron Vlaar was class in the World Cup for Netherlands and he should display the same form coming into the season for Aston Villa. He is a threat from set-pieces and you know he is definitely going to play week-in-week-out.

4.MF- Sone Aluko (Hull City)- 5.0m

On his day, Aluko is a game-changing forward. Yes a forward- he is not a midfielder! Now Hull have purchased Tom Ince and Robert Snodgrass, Aluko and Jelavic should get plenty of chances in front of goal. He has enjoyed an excellent pre-season and after selling Shane Long to Southampton for £12m, the Nigerian will be expected to deliver.

5.F- David Nugent (Leicester City)- 5.5m

David Nugent takes all the penalties and most of the free-kicks for Leicester which is always a valuable asset in fantasy football. He scored 20 goals last season in The Foxes Championship winning season. Expect him to deliver at least 10 goals in this campaign.
