Manchester City sign deal with Healthpoint as club’s UAE health partner

  • New partnership: Healthpoint have signed up a three-year deal with the Sky Blues.

    Premier League champions Manchester City have netted a three-year partnership with Abu Dhabi-based sports-related injury centre Healthpoint, which will see the UAE company become the Sky Blues’ regional healthcare partner.

    Healthpoint is a leading centre for sports-related injury, preven­tion and rehabilitation, boasting the Emirate’s largest physiotherapy centre and numerous rehabilita­tion techniques and technologies that have been introduced for the first time in the region.

    As part of the agreement, an ann-ual internship will be offered to a Healthpoint sports medicine pro­fessional to train alongside City’s practices for treating athletes in sports medicine.

    Dr. Ihsan Al Marzouqi, board member of Healthpoint, said: “The collaboration between Healthpoint and Manchester City is exemplary of our strategy to partner with top international organisations to address local healthcare needs and bolster local capacity.

    Manchester City’s chief business officer, Tom Glick, said: “Health­point’s reputation for providing the highest standard of clinical and technologically advanced medical care is second to none within the Middle East. Healthpoint is build­ing a world-class operation and a centre of excellence in sports medi­cine that will undoubtedly add val­ue to City’s global network of medi­cal professionals.”

    Vincent Kompany, Joe Hart, David Silva and Martin Demichelis visited Healthpoint’s cutting-edge Zayed Sports City-based facility in the spring as part of City’s postsea­son tour in the UAE in May.
