Here are our five picks of the week for any managers that are unsure who the best options are in a busy Christmas period:

DEF – Pablo Zabaleta (Manchester City) – 6.4m

Everybody knows that Pablo Zabaleta is as good as it gets when seeking a defender in Fantasy Football. Now is the ideal time to bring him into your side. The 29-year-old has scored a goal and kept two clean sheets in his last four matches.  There is a high chance that Man City will keep a clean sheet at home to Crystal Palace this weekend and then they have a run of eye-pleasing fixtures. With the Argentine being rested last week, expect him to be back in full flow on Saturday earning you some valuable points.

FWD – Wayne Rooney (Manchester United) – 10.6m

Manchester United are beginning to show the class they’re renowned for after winning the last six games in succession. One man that much of this comes down to is England captain, Wayne Rooney. In his last four games he has scored three and assisted one goal earning him five bonus points. The Red Devils are facing Aston Villa (A) then Newcastle (H) in their next two matches. Expect Rooney to score or assist in both of these games. Does anybody remember this strike against Newcastle?

    MF – Christian Eriksen – (Spurs) – 8.1m

Spurs’ playmaker is currently one of the best players in the league- especially when it comes to Fantasy Football. He has scored three and set two up in his last five games which has rewarded him with nine bonus points. The Danish star is on free-kick and corner duty and is playing with so much confidence that he will continue to earn a vast amount of points when Spurs take on Burnley (H) and Leicester (A). Teammate Jan Vertonghen believes he can become “one of the Premier League’s best playmakers”- that says it all…

    MF – Raheem Sterling (Liverpool) – 8.3m

The young, lightning quick winger has suddenly been asked to take up the number 9 role by Brendan Rodgers. This position didn’t seem to suit him when he faced Man United and the outstanding David De Gea after wasting an array of opportunities. However, he took both of his goals sublimely against Bournemouth on Wednesday in the cup. Expect him to start up front against Arsenal and cause the heavy-footed Per Mertesacker a handful of problems.

    FWD – Harry Kane (Spurs) – 5.1m

For 5.1 million, he must be the best value-for-money in the whole of Fantasy Football. As mentioned earlier, Spurs have two games they are expected to win against newly-promoted sides. Kane is now an integral member of Spurs’ side so his price will inevitably rise. He is only currently owned by 6.4% of players so he is an interesting alternative if you need to catch up with the leaders who own all the popular players like Diego Costa and Graziano Pelle.
