    1) LIONEL MESSI (BARCELONA) – 7.70

The Argentine forward was back in Barcelona’s starting eleven against Roma in devastating fashion, grabbing a brace in their 6-1 demolition at the Camp Nou.

It was Messi’s first start since suffering a knee ligament injury back in early September and the Barcelona man looked to enjoy his return to the side.

With Luis Suarez and Neymar firing in Messi’s absence, his superb return to the team looked ominous for Barca’s upcoming opponents as they secured their passage to the last-16.

    2) WILLIAN (CHELSEA) – 7.35

It’s been a difficult start to the year for Chelsea, with their on-field performances providing Stamford Bridge with little to cheer of and rumours swirling around the future of manager Jose Mourinho.

One man who has been providing some solace on the pitch, however, is Willian.

The Brazilian set up Chelsea’s first before scoring their second with his sixth goal from free-kicks this season – the most of any player in Europe’s top-5 leagues.

    3) PAUL POGBA (JUVENTUS) – 7.28

The France midfielder returned to Manchester this week to give a midfield masterclass to his former employers’ inner-city rivals.

Pogba was imperious as Juve downed Manchester City in a dominant display.

With City sniffing around Pogba in the summer, this kind of performance may well encourage them to make a move for European football’s most sought after midfielder again in 2016.

    4) KINGSLEY COMAN (BAYERN MUNICH) – 7.14

The on-loan Juventus forward added gloss to Bayern’s 4-0 win over Olympiakos by scoring their fourth of the night and he certainly caught the eye in Munich.

Coman is with the Bavarian outfit for at least the next two seasons and this kind of outing will do his chances of securing a permanent move in the future no harm at all.

The 19-year-old also provided an assist as his side advanced to the next stage of the competition with little fuss.

    5) CRISTIANO RONALDO (REAL MADRID) – 7.12

Portugal winger Ronaldo may feel slightly hard done by in coming in fifth after his two goals and two assists saw Real Madrid to a 4-3 win over Shakhtar Donetsk.

Ronaldo’s double gave his team a 4-0 lead which they would go on to somehow see reduced to just one in an otherwise imposing victory.

The Real Madrid man is now this season’s top goalscorer in the UCL, netting seven times already this campaign.
