Michele Uva, General Manager of the Italian Football Federation will be joined by Umberto Gandini, director at AC Milan, in the keynote session that will be moderated by Mario Gallavotti.

The list of speakers and attendees was announced by His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council in the presence of Dr Khalid Al Zahed, Deputy Chairman of the Organising Committee of the Conference, Argentina’s legendary football captain Diego Maradona and 2007 African Footballer of the Year, Frederic Omour Kanoute.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Sports Council, this year’s event will have a host of other stars including Barcelona President Josef Maria Bartaumeu, Frank Lampard and Gianluigi Buffon.

The world of football has been going through tough times and organisers have deliberately chosen the theme of “Challenges and Achievements” in football as the central discussion point of the conference.

Also attending for the first time is Germany’s football legend and Chairman of Bayern Munich Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, who will be joined on the opening day by UEFA Secretary General Gianni Infantino.

On the first day, there will be a special session dedicated to referees and the changing rules and regulations in the sport. This session will be led by the famed Pierluigi Collina, who is now UEFA Heads of Referees.

On the second day of the conference, former Italian national team coach Fabio Capello will be joined by Marc Wilmots and Antonio Conte to discuss ‘How to Stay at the Top’ in a session that will be moderated by Real Madrid and Spanish legend Michel Salgado.

The day will conclude with one final session on putting in place a ‘Long-term Football Career Programme’ in a session that will be debated by Italian playmaker Andrea Pirlo along with England’s Frank Lampard. The day’s programme will conclude with a farewell ceremony and lunch.

The event will be held at the Madinat Jumeirah Hotel.
