The World Cup qualification picture should become a lot clearer in the coming days.
Here, Press Association Sport looks at some of the issues that could be resolved in matches being played from Saturday onwards.
:: Tunisia will qualify if DR Congo fail to match or better their result.
:: Nigeria will qualify if they beat Zambia.
:: Syria and Australia play the second leg of their play-off on October 10 for the right to reach a further play-off against the fourth-placed CONCACAF side in November. The tie is level at 1-1 after the first leg.
:: France will qualify if they win and Sweden lose. Sweden guaranteed top-two finish if Holland fail to match or better their result and Bulgaria fail to beat France.
:: Switzerland will qualify if Portugal fail to match or better their result.
:: Bosnia-Herzegovina guaranteed a top-two finish if they win and Greece lose to Cyprus.
:: Uruguay will be guaranteed an automatic qualification berth if they take at least a point at home to already-eliminated Bolivia.
:: Argentina need to win away to Ecuador to guarantee a play-off place (Tuesday night).
Already qualified: Russia (hosts), Belgium, England, Germany, Iran, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Brazil.
