India’s under-20 side pulled off a famous upset on Sunday night, beating six-time champions Argentina 2-1 in the COTIF Cup 2018 in Spain.
The win is some coup for Floyd Pinto’s charges given his men had failed to register victory in either of their three previous games in the tournament.
But goals from Deepak Tangri and Anwar Ali helped them overcome the record six-time under-20 World Cup champions, who are managed by former Deportivo La Coruna, Lazio and West Ham wing-back Lionel Scaloni.
India had to play 40 minutes in the second-half with 10-men after Aniket Jadhav’s sending-off in the 50th minute.
