Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain is inching closer to a move to AC Milan, while Leonardo Bonucci‘s return to his former club is near completion as well.

The Argentine star’s agent and brother, Nicolas, who is his brother as well, has been in contact with Milan’s new director of football Leonardo, and both of them arrived in Casa Milan on Monday.

Higuain’s position in the Juve side has come under threat after Cristiano Ronaldo‘s arrival from Real Madrid.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri had refused to comment on the transfer situation on Monday, insisting he was not involved in the talks.

“I am not in charge of the transfer market, that is up to the club.”

“I don’t even have a [senior] striker here, so let’s see [about transfers] because we still have to return to Italy.

“When the market closes on the 17th [of August] the Juventus squad will be as competitive as ever. The club has worked very well and after this week of work we will go back.

“After that, we’ll take stock of the window, which will be an excellent one regardless of what happens next.”

Milan meanwhile are looking to seal a loan deal for the forward and will pay €18 million, with an option to buy for another €36 million.

A return to Turin is on the cards for Bonucci however, after an unsuccessful season at San Siro.

If the experienced defender does switch, Juve’s Mattia Caldara might have to move in the opposite direction in order to reduce transfer costs.
