    1. LUIS SUAREZ (BARCELONA) – 8.05

The 29-year-old scored a brace, his 36th and 37th La Liga goals of the season to reaffirm his status as the league’s top goalscorer, as Barcelona routed local rivals Espanyol 5-0.

Suarez typified Barca’s workrate and dominance throughout in the victory which has taken them to the brink of another La Liga title with just one match left to play.

The Uruguayan combined brilliantly with Lionel Messi all afternoon and tucked home in the 52nd minute after a precise through pass from the little magician. And, less than 10 minutes later, Suarez added a third with a bullet header from a corner.

    2. DIEGO ALVES (VALENCIA) – 7.42

The Los Che shot-stopper was in fine form as Valencia caused Real Madrid a fright at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite conceding three goals, two of them from Cristiano Ronaldo, the Brazilian produced a string of remarkable saves as the Mestalla club maintained hopes of grabbing a share of the spoils at 1-1 and 3-2 down.

    3. CRISTIANO RONALDO (REAL MADRID) – 7.40

The Portuguese superstar netted a brace against Valencia as Zinedine Zidane’s made sure the La Liga title race went down to the final day.

Ronaldo appeared fresh after his recent troubles with injury and quiet performance against Manchester City in the Champions League to put Madrid in front after 26 minutes, smashing a right-footed shot past Alves after skipping past Aymen Abdennour.

The 31-year-old added Madrid’s third goal, in-between a strike from Karim Benzema, slotting the ball home after an impressive through ball from James Rodriguez.

    4. LIONEL MESSI (BARCELONA) – 7.32

Messi scored a stunning free-kick into the top corner after eight minutes, his fourth direct dead-ball effort of the season, to set Barca on their way to an easy victory in front of a season-high Camp Nou crowd.

The hosts never looked back after Messi’s opener and the Argentine set-up Suarez for his first of the match soon after the break, as he orchestrated proceedings from a deep-lying attacking position.

Heading into the Catalan giants’ title decider against Granada on Sunday, Luis Enrique’s men will once again need a stellar Messi performance as the 28-year-old looks to add to his 26 league strikes and 16 assists this term.

    5. ANTONIO ADAN (REAL BETIS) – 7.29

The 28-year-old former Real Madrid goalkeeper had a day to remember as he produced a string of high-quality saves to book a much-needed point at Eibar.

Adan kept the home side at bay as Betis held a slender 1-0 advantage until Sergi Enrich steered in a low cross for their equaliser.
