    1) LUIS SUAREZ – BARCELONA

The Uruguayan was in stunning form as he scored his eighth hat-trick for Barcelona. Having scored 88 goals now for the club,  he’s already on his way to going down as one of their best ever strikers. His movement, tenacity and technical brilliance came to the fore against Real Betis.

    2) LIONEL MESSI – BARCELONA

The only player who could challenge Suarez for top spot this week is Lionel Messi. The Argentine was at his influential best as he scored a braced and provided two assists. Even without Neymar, the other two members of the MSN triumvirate did plenty of damage.

    3) PABLO SARABIA – SEVILLA

With two assists and a goal, Pablo Sarabia was the one pulling the strings as Sevilla put six past Espanyol. He scored a header to when Sevilla trailed 1-0 but his standout moment was his no-look assist for his side’s fifth.

    4) ROBERTO GAGO – ESPANYOL

Sevilla plundered six goals past Espanyol but it would have been a lot more if not for some great saves from their custodian Roberto Gago.

    5) FRANCO VAZQUEZ – SEVILLA

Despite scoring a fine goal and chipping in with a delightful assist, Franco Vazquez’s biggest contribution to the game was his nimble footwork and clever flicks in midfield.
