CARLOS CARMONA (Sporting Gijon) – 8.4

Carmona scored twice as Sporting Gijon recorded their first win since September, beating Osasuna 3-1.

The 29-year-old netted three minutes before half-time, before registering his second with 11 minutes remaining to seal Rojiblancos first win in eleven games.

Victory now leaves Sporting Gijon level on points with Valencia in 18th place and eases mounting pressure on boss Abelardo.

FLORIN ANDONE (Deportivo La Coruna) – 8.3

Florin Andone bagged a brace as Deportivo La Coruna climbed out of the relegation zone with a 5-1 win over Real Sociedad.

The Romanian was in inspiring form, scoring in either half as Deportivo secured their first win since October 1.

A tough task awaits Deportivo this weekend as they face Real Madrid at the Bernabeu.

    DIEGO LOPEZ (Espanyol) – 7.5

The Spaniard has the best run of any goalkeeper in La Liga this season, going 496 minutes without conceding a goal.

Against Atletico Madrid at the weekend, Lopez was rock solid and made crucial saves to earn Espanyol a deserved point.

Confidence continues to grow as Quique Sanchez Flores’ side sit 12th in the table.

INAKI WILLIAMS (Athletic Bilbao)  – 7.5

Williams scored one of the goals of the weekend as Athletic Bilbao beat Eibar 3-1 in the Basque derby.

Gathering possession in his own half, the Spaniard burst past a number of defenders before sending a low shot past between the legs of Riesgo.

    DAVID LOMBAN (Granada) – 7.5

One of the key men on show at Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes as Granada beat Sevilla 2-1 to seal a first win in La Liga.

The Spaniard netted Granada’s second goal on 56 minutes, ghosting in at the back post to meet Pereira’s corner with a neat finish.
