Links between Antoine Griezmann and Manchester United only get stronger and the Old Trafford faithful will be excited by the Frenchman’s effort on Sunday, even if it didn’t count.
The Atletico Madrid striker pulled off a sumptuous lobbed finish over the keeper against Athletic Bilbao but the goal was ruled out for offside.
Griezmann made a run in behind the defence and had space down the left but with no crossing options available, he went on to audaciously chip the keeper and find the back of the net only to see the linesman’s flag raised.
The French international did score from range ten minutes later though to secure a 2-2 draw for the visitors.
