    1) FABIAN ORELLANA (CELTA VIGO) – 8.10

The attacking midfielder from Chile helped his Celta Vigo side to a 1-0 win over Espanyol this week, despite the hosts going down to ten men.

Orellana bagged the ‘Man of the Match’ award thanks to his mazy dribbles and direct running that caused havoc in the Espanyol defence.

The 29-year-old was a constant threat, so much so that he was fouled nine times in the match as the visitor aimed to stop the Celta man by any means necessary.

    2) CEDRIC BAKAMBU (VILLARREAL) – 7.91

Fresh from his match-winning brace last week, Bakambu set up Roberto Soldado to give Villarreal an unlikely 1-0 win over Real Madrid.

The Congolese international has shot up from fifth to second in the top-5 as a result, the importance of his impact in recent weeks seeing his team move into fifth place in La Liga.

If Bakambu continues to fire then expect Villarreal to make a move towards those Champions League spots.

    3) ANTOINE GRIEZMANN (ATLETICO MADRID) – 7.82

The Frenchman’s stunning 25-yard strike saw Atletico come from behind to beat Athletic Bilboa 2-1 and it is little wonder Griezmann’s efforts caught the eye of the ValoraFutbol fans.

It was the 24-year-old’s eighth La Liga goal of the season and fired Atletico into second-place, level on points with leaders Barcelona.

If Griezmann can continue in this rich vein of form, the league title will be a realistic ambition should Barca or Real continue to falter.

    4) MATEO MUSACCHIO (VILLARREAL) – 7.77

The first defender to make the top-five in two weeks.

Musacchio’s monsterous efforts to deny the likes of Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale were instrumental in Villarreal’s win over Real Madrid.

It’s now two wins out of two for Villarreal who are back on track after going winless in November.

    5) ERIC BERTRAND BAILLY (VILLARREAL) – 7.74

Bailly becomes the third Villarreal player to make the top-5 this week, just reward for a superb victory over Real.

As part of a back-five that included Musacchio, Bailly was equally pivotal in denying Madrid’s potent forward line.

The 21-year-old Ivorian is an indomitable presence for the Yellow Submarine and proved this once again in securing all three points at Estadio El Madrigal.
