    1) LIONEL MESSI (BARCELONA) – 7.95

Messi was celebrating his 500th appearance for Barcelona against Betis this week and he did so by scoring his 425th goal for the club in the process.

As his side plundered four goals past their opponents, Messi helped Barcelona to a Spanish record 180 goals in all competitions in 2015.

At this rate, expect Messi to lead his side to even more records in 2016 and beyond as his remarkable goal scoring record shows no sign of abating.

    2) CIRO IMMOBILE (SEVILLA) – 7.76

The on-loan Dortmund striker helped Sevilla to a 2-0 victory over Espanyol this week, getting his team’s first goal before Ever Banega doubled their tally.

Immobile’s effort was only his second since joining Sevilla and he will be hoping that it leads to many more in 2016.

It was Sevilla’s seventh win at home in nine games so far this season and leaves them sitting eighth in La Liga heading into the New Year.

    3) SERGI ROBERTO (BARCELONA) – 7.75

The young midfielder was given a rare outing in La Liga as Luis Enrique utilised his squad and Roberto sure took his opportunity to impress.

The 23-year-old La Masia graduate was instrumental in his team’s attacking intent, orchestrating much of the running from the base of their midfield.

With four assists to his name already in La Liga this season, Roberto is making a name for himself in the Barca first-team.

    4) LUIS SUAREZ (BARCELONA) – 7.70

Suarez struck twice in Barca’s win to move clear of teammate Neymar and Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo as the league’s top scorer.

It’s now 15 La Liga goals for Suarez in this campaign, one that is proving very fruitful indeed for the Uruguayan and his club mates.

Barcelona are now top of La Liga on goal difference with a game in hand over second-placed Atletico Madrid and all signs would suggest that even more glory awaits in 2016.

    5) KEKO (EIBAR) – 7.70

The 24-year-old Spanish winger grabbed Eibar’s first goal in their 2-0 win over Sporting this week which sent the club ninth in La Liga.

Keko’s performances have helped Eibar punch above their weight so far this season and a much deserved first La Liga goal will have delighted both the player and his teammates.

If his performances were to improve further, Eibar may well surprise a few more people this season.
