Mpappe was on fire in PSG's 3-1 win over Angers.

Edinson Cavani, Kylian Mbappe and Neymar each scored as Paris St Germain overcame Angers 3-1 at Parc des Princes to remain at the top of Ligue 1.

Cavani marked his first appearance of the season after recovering from the hamstring injury sustained during Uruquay’s World Cup campaign by sliding home an easy opener set-up by Neymar’s deflected cross.

Angers hit back when debutant Thilo Keh, a £34million summer signing from Schalke, hacked down Flavien Tait and Thomas Mangani converted from the spot.

Angers have yet to claim a point this season but they defended resolutely against the reigning champions until two superb goals sealed their fate.

First Mbappe drove home a pinpoint long-range cross from Angel Di Maria before the French World Cup winner teed-up Neymar for a well-taken third.

Thierry Henry could soon be the manager at Bordeaux, and his former Arsenal team-mate Patrick Vieira believes the fit would be great.

Vieira, who is the boss for Nice, backed Henry to boost Bordeaux and Ligue 1 if he were to make the move.

“It would be very good for Ligue 1 compared to his notoriety… I think it would be a very good thing for football,” said Vieira.

Henry was an assistant coach for Belgium during the World Cup.

Thierry Henry has agreed to become the manager of Bordeaux, with the former Monaco, Juventus, Arsenal, and Barcelona star now awaiting a final decision from the Ligue 1 club’s owners, according to Goal.

If confirmed, the Frenchman will replace Gus Poyet, who was suspended on Friday after criticising the club for their transfer business this summer.

Ex-Germany and USA boss Jurgen Klinsmann, and Laurent Blanc, who previously won the league title with Bordeaux, were also linked with the role, but Henry has emerged as the preferred choice.

Henry, currently an assistant coach for Belgium as well as a pundit for Sky Sports, has reportedly sought assurances from the club regarding transfer funds, as well as sounding out former Bordeaux staff to get a clearer idea of the club’s situation.

He has also reportedly approached Gilles Grimandi, a former teammate at Arsenal, to be his assistant.

Ex-Gunners boss Arsene Wenger backed Henry for the job last week, saying his former charge “is intelligent and has the qualities” to make the step up to management
