Alexis Sanchez has earned the faith of Jose Mourinho despite his poor form while Paul Pogba also starts in the FA Cup semi-final between Manchester United and Tottenham.
Sanchez, who dropped to the bench for United’s midweek 2-0 victory over Bournemouth, was a dismal performer in defeat to the Premier League’s basement club West Brom last weekend.
But both the Chilean and a similarly under-fire Pogba – who was in the starting XI against the Cherries – are in the team to take on Tottenham at Wembley.
Sanchez starts up front alongside Jesse Lingard and Romeu Lukaku while Pogba is part of a three-man midfield including Nemanja Matic and an in-form Ander Herrera.
Romelu Lukaku, Ashley Young, and Antonio Valencia were also restored to the team, while Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are among the substitutes.
Hugo Lloris was named on the bench as Michel Vorm was included in Tottenham’s XI.
Lloris and defender Toby Alderweireld were among the substitutes as Mauricio Pochettino recalled Kieran Trippier, Davinson Sanchez, Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele and Dele Alli to his line-up.
