  • Gareth Bale signed for Real Madrid in 2013 for a then world record fee of £85.3 million.

Since then the Welshman has impressed in spells but injuries have hindered his career at the Bernabeu.

Nevertheless, he’s still managed to win seven major honours with the Spanish giants, including three Champions League titles in four years.

However, Madrid have now set their eyes on the next player to potentially go for a world record fee, Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old took the football world by storm last season and AS Monaco have reportedly slapped a £120 million price tag on their prized asset.

Bale could be used to fund the move with the likes of Manchester United and Paris-Saint-Germain showing interest.

The Welshman turned 28 on Sunday and is still in his best years but his injury problems remain a concern.

The video below looks back at Bale’s best career moments so far.
