Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar could form a devastating blend for Real Madrid should Los Blancos make a move for the Paris Saint-Germain forward, according to midfielder Casemiro.

Neymar has been linked with another staggering transfer this summer with Madrid said to be set for major squad investment after this season’s dire La Liga title defence.

Rumours of a switch were gathering momentum with Ronaldo’s powers believed to be waning but the 33-year-old is enjoying another stellar season with 33 goals in 34 appearances in all competitions.

And Casemiro does not believe former Barcelona forward Neymar is on his way to the Bernabeu but is adamant if a move did come to fruition he would be an excellent addition to Zinedine Zidane’s side.

“[Neymar] has always been spectacular, since he was 11 years old. He does crazy things,” he told El Partidazo.

“I don’t think there is any chance that he will come to Real, but you have to ask [Madrid president] Florentino Perez.

“He knows that the door is always open for him in Madrid, but he is happy in Paris. He always says that he is happy there, that he is comfortable in Paris. There are many Brazilians there too, it is very quiet there, but whether it’s possible you have to ask Florentino.

“With the quality that he has, I would sign him for sure. I hope he comes this season.

“He is a great player, one of the top three in the world. He can do whatever he wants off the pitch if he continues to do what he does on it.

“He would get along very well with Cristiano, very well.”

Of course, if Neymar was to move to the Spanish capital he would be one of the few players to have lined up alongside both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi after spending four seasons with the Catalan giants.

But Casemiro believes there is one clear winner in the debate between who is the world’s best.

“Messi is a great player, but I’m staying with Cristiano,” he said.

“For me, Cristiano is the best player in the world.”
