  • Real Madrid were held to a draw at home for the second fixture in a row.

Lucas Vazquez insists Real Madrid are in good form ahead of their Champions League semi-final against Bayern Munich, despite Los Blancos being held to a 1-1 draw by Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night.

“It is true that we had the Bayern game in mind, but not when we began playing,” Vazquez said after the game.

“We have a week to work on it. We are in good form, we have confidence and we are playing well.”

Madrid face Bayern next Wednesday in Munich, before the return leg at home the following week.

While playing the second leg at home is usually an advantage, Madrid have now drawn twice in a row at the Bernabeu following the result against Bilbao.

“[The draw] gives us a bittersweet taste. We played a great game,” Vazquez added.

“They went ahead and then backed off. We had chances, but weren’t right. That’s the truth.”
