  • Gareth Bale‘s Real Madrid future is at a crossroads after the Welshman was left on the bench throughout Los Blancos’ 2-1 victory at Bayern Munich.

According to Marca, Zinedine Zidane‘s decision to not play the 28-year-old has only served to increase speculation that this could well be his last season with the Whites.

Inconsistency, not injuries, has plagued a campaign for Bale in which he has netted 14 times in all competitions but has been often substituted.

He was hauled off at half-time during the second leg quarter-final clash against Juventus and first-team selection is no longer a guarantee.

Bale, himself, has hinted that he would not rule out a move at the end of the season and it looks likely Madrid will decide to cash in on the attacker before his deal expires in 2022.

Bayern and Manchester United have long been linked with his services, with Zidane happy to allow the three-time Champions League winner to depart.
