An emotional Dani Carvajal may miss the World Cup with Spain after being forced to leave the field during Real Madrid’s clash with Liverpool in the Champions League final on Saturday.
Under pressure from Andy Robertson, Carvajal seemed to suffer a heavy impact on his leg upon landing just past the half-hour mark in Kiev.
He hobbled off the pitch in tears – and was later seen walking off down the tunnel – to be replaced by Nacho at right-back.
Carvajal is Spain’s first-choice right back and Spain coach Julen Lopetegui may look at Barcelona’s Sergi Roberto as a replacement.
Spain play Iberian rivals Portugal in their World Cup opener in Group B on June 15.
