  • Real Madrid could bring James Rodriguez back to the club this summer after the Colombian star reportedly sent out signals he wishes to return to the Bernabeu, according to Marca.

The playmaker is about to enter into his second season as a Bayern Munich loan star, with Los Blancos’ agreement with the Bavarians running until June 30, 2019.

That loan agreement includes a purchase-option for Bayern and apparently there is no way for the 27-year-old to make his way back to the Spanish capital during this period.

However, given his startling form for the Bundesliga giants last term and the fact Zinedine Zidane has now left the Whites – the manager of whom Rodriguez failed to become a regular under – the player could become a Madrid man again soon.

President Florentino Perez may take it upon himself to renegotiate the agreement, at the player’s wish, with Bayern and bring him into the fold to work with new boss Julen Lopetegui as early as this month.

However, should that not materialise and Bayern refuse to sign James next summer – the former Porto star will return to Real where he has a contract until 2020.
