  • Step aside Giroud: Lukaku to join Arsenal?

The season is fast approaching and the transfer market is hotting up as teams are gearing up for the new campaign on tours to far-flung destinations.

Sunday’s transfer round-up sees two completed loan deals and possible departures for a player from either Merseyside Premier League outfit.

What else is still to come?

Aaron Leya Iseka, Anderlecht to Marseille, Loan (Done Deal)

What do you do when you lose Michy Batshuayi to Chelsea? Sign his younger brother of course. A one-year loan deal has been agreed for the 18-year-old, a player who follows his brother from Belgium to the south of France.

Guillermo Varela, Manchester United to Eintracht Frankfurt, Loan (Done Deal)

The right-back, 23, will spend the season on loan in Germany. He made 10 starts for the Red Devils last season and played in a pre-season friendly against Wigan, but crucially did not fly out with Jose Mourinho’s squad for their tour of Asia.

Kolo Toure, Liverpool to Celtic, Free (In Talks)

Celtic will complete the signing of the ex Liverpool defender today after he completed a medical yesterday. The 35-year-old worked with Bhoys boss Brendan Rodgers during their time at Anfield and was released by the Reds this summer.

Romelu Lukaku, Everton to Arsenal, £65 million (Reports)

Arsenal have joined Chelsea in the race for the big Belgian, according to the Liverpool Echo. They say the asking price, however, will scare both of them off the Everton striker, who scored 25 goals in 46 games for the Toffees last season.

Bartosz Kapustka, Cracovia to Leicester City, £6.25 million (Reports)

The Premier League champions could be about to make their sixth summer acquisition, with the Daily Mail reporting the Foxes have made a bid for the teenage Poland midfielder, who impressed for his country at Euro 2016.
