Alvaro Morata is set to move from Real Madrid to Chelsea ahead of the new season.

The Spanish striker has been linked to Manchester United for most of the summer but with Jose Mourinho’s side failing to agree a fee with Madrid, they swooped in and landed Chelsea’s prime target Romelu Lukaku instead.

Given the rift between Diego Costa and Antonio Conte, Chelsea have been left scrambling for a replacement after they were beaten to Lukaku’s signature.

According to Sky Sports Italia’s Gianluca Dimarzio, the Stamford Bridge outfit has finally landed the striker they need with a deal for Morata all but done.

With Costa heavily linked to a return to Atletico Madrid, Chelsea have been linked with the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Andrea Belotti, Alexis Sanche and Sergio Aguero after missing out on Lukaku.

Although a few formalities are yet to be concluded, Morata to Chelsea appears to be a done deal.

The fee is expected to be in the region of £78 million.
