    NEYMAR

According to Marca, Neymar will earn £27m a year in wages should he move from Barcelona to PSG this summer which works up to £162m over the expected contract length of six years.

Including the £197m release clause, the cost for the Brazilian’s services over that duration amounts to £359m apart from incentives and bonuses.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT:

PSG appear pretty confident of completing the move. Had Neymar not signed a contract with Barcelona just last year, the speculation at the moment could easily be ploy for a new deal and a substantial pay-rise.

However, that’s clearly not the player’s angle. The club insist they want him to stay but Neymar’s silence speaks volumes. He could quite easily come out and deny the rumours, stamping out all speculation. But he hasn’t.

The big obstacle for PSG to overcome now is meeting that release clause whilst operating within the parameters of Financial Fair Play (FFP)

    PHILIPPE COUTINHO

Jurgen Klopp has come out and stated that any bid for Liverpool’s playmaker is a waste of time but Barcelona appear determined to get their man.

Barcelona will test Liverpool’s resolve to keep Philippe Coutinho with an £80m bid, the Mirror report.

The Catalan giants will return with an improved offer for the Brazil midfielder after their initial £72m offer was rejected.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT:

It’s hard not to tie this story to the Neymar one. First of all, it has the same feel to it apart from the fact that Coutinho doesn’t have a release clause.

£80m is enough to get Liverpool thinking but as far as the player is concerned, if a slot opens up in the famed ‘MSN’ triumvirate next season, it would be extremely hard to resist. ‘MSC’?

    LAURENT KOSCIELNY

The France international has committed the golden years of his career to the club, and he says he has never even considered leaving north London.

“When I first got here, I didn’t think about how long I would stay at this club – but now I am starting my eighth season so I am very happy with this,” Koscielny told the arsenal.com.

    RATING: 10/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT:

Koscielny has been linked with Barcelona in previous seasons and this summer rumours of a move to Marseille have sprung up.

But at this stage of his career, the Frenchman will want to remain at Arsenal as long as possible. The club as well won’t want to let go of one of their best and most experienced players.
