With hours to go for the Spanish transfer deadline, Barcelona descended into a mad scramble for Angel Di Maria.
The Catalans decided to chase the former Real Madrid star after failing to land Philippe Coutinho from Liverpool.
Barcelona rushed to bring in the 29-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder after securing the signature of Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund.
Di Maria won the Champions League, a La Liga title and two Copa del Reys during his time at Real Madrid.
Barca fans however were not pleased with the move for a former player of their fierce rivals.

Signing Di Maria the stupidest possible action by Barcelona, it’s simply unfathomable by any standards.

Barca buying Di Maria from PSG with the FFP investigation in progress is like someone giving an alibi to the person who burgled their house.

Signing Di Maria after the way he played yesterday is like siging Brazil’s defenders after they lost 7-1 to Germany. Complete madness.

Not only does Di Maria get to frustrate me with Argentina but now he will frustrate me with Barcelona. Excellent.
