MESUT OZIL KEEN ON REUNITING WITH JOSE MOURINHO

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil is set to turn down a new Arsenal contract in a bid to link-up with his former Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

The much-criticised German, whose deal expires in just 10 months time at the end of this season, has made his mind up that his future lies away from the Emirates – according to The Mirror.

Ozil is ready to disregard any new Arsenal offer in the region of £250,000-a-week and instead look to join the Red Devils on a free transfer.

Mourinho signed the playmaker when he was Los Blancos boss back in the summer of 2010 and the pair enjoy a strong relationship, as the World Cup winner eluded to in his autobiography, ‘Gunning for Greatness’.

The Gunners will try and do everything in their power to tie Ozil down but the risk of him joining a Premier League rival is very high.

    RATING: 8/10

VERDICT: With the likes of Alexis Sanchez also available on a free transfer next year, there could be an exodus of big stars leaving the Emirates – with Ozil expected to be a man very much in demand.

LAZIO SLAP £75M PRICE TAG ON SERGEJ MILINKOVIC-SAVIC

Manchester United are running the rule over Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic but have been told by the Italian giants he is not for sale for anything under £75m.

The 22-year-old is widely touted as one of the rising stars of European football, with United scouts having filed detailed reports on the Serbian this season and last.

According to the Daily Express, Mourinho’s men aren’t alone in monitoring the former Genk star, with Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City also being aware of his talents.

There could yet be a bidding war between the two Manchester clubs next summer given Lazio dismissed the possibility of their player leaving Serie A during the January transfer window.

    RATING: 7/10

VERDICT: Milinkovic-Savic fits the Premier League mold perfectly and would be a welcome addition to the hustle and bustle of English football. Expect the considerable interest to continue in his signature.

BARCA AND JUVE BATTLE FOR YOUNGSTER

Barcelona face competition from Juventus if they are to sign rising prodigy Iker San Vicente.

The 16-year-old defender, who progressed through the Osasuna youth team system, turned down professional terms with the Pamplona side and is therefore on the lookout for a new club.

It is reported by Sport that Osasuna were keen to include a release clause in the teen’s contract given his rising potential.

Having scouted San Vicente on a number of occasions, Barca thought they were the frontrunners in the chase to sign the prospect, however the Old Lady and Atletico Madrid are also interested.

    RATING: 7/10

VERDICT: Iker San Vicente is clearly one of the hottest talents in Spanish football and Barcelona want to move quickly to ensure he becomes their player.
