The transfer window may not open again until January 1 2018 but that hasn’t put an end to plenty of speculation throughout Europe.

Here, we take a look at three big stories dominating the headlines on Friday.

Will any of the following deals happen?

    ANTOINE GRIEZMANN

Barcelona are plotting a move for Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann next summer, reports Mundo Deportivo .

The Spanish newspaper claim ‘Operation Griezmann’ is underway to meet his €100m buy-out clause.

During the summer transfer window, when speculation was rife that the Frenchman was on his way to Manchester United, he committed to staying at Atletico in the wake of the club’s transfer ban.

Griezmann enjoyed the best year of his career in 2016, finishing third behind Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi in the race for the Balon d’Or.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

Griezmann is no doubt the best possible replacement available to help fill the gap left by Neymar and create a trident with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

Diego Simeone will want to keep his star man, but a fee in excess of €100 million will be difficult to turn down, especially with new arrival Diego Costa capable of leading the attack.

Griezmann has scored two goals for Simeone’s this season to help them up to fourth in La Liga – a point behind of Real Madrid and six adrift of Barcelona.

    ALEXIS SANCHEZ

Arsenal will demand at least £30m from Manchester City for Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window, according to the Daily Star.

Arsene Wenger has previously said that he expects the Chilean international to see out the final year of his contract and will not be sold prior to this.

But the Sky Blues will seek to offer Wenger a way to avoid losing the 29-year-old on a free transfer next summer.

Italian giants AC Milan and Ligue 1 heavyweights Paris Saint-Germain are among the other clubs interested in securing his services.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

An approach from Pep Guardiola’s side would certainly interest the Chilean, and with a salary of around €332,000 per week, it’s a move not to rule out just yet.

Although he has been linked with a move to England’s north-west before, it is unlikely the deal will go through until next summer.

    CIRO IMMOBILE

Chelsea are set to make a move for Lazio forward Ciro Immobile in January, according to Sport.

Antonio Conte is believed to be a huge admirer of the player, who he managed during his time as Italy boss.

Roman Abramovich could pay between €50-60 million to strike a deal for the ace marksman who has netted 43 goals in 54 games.

    RATING: 6/10

    SPORT360 VERDICT

After a barren spell at Borussia Dortmund, Immobile has re-established his reputation as one of the Italy’s deadliest strikers since signing for Lazio last season.

Chelsea chiefs are heavily interested in submitting a bid for the 27-year-old as they think he could strike up the perfect partnership with Alvaro Morata – as well as bolstering the Blues misfiring attack.
