  • Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been dropped by Borussia Dortmund for “disciplinary reasons” for the second time this season, increasing speculation he could move in the January transfer window.

The Bundesliga side said on Twitter that the striker had been left out of the squad for Sunday’s home clash with Wolfsburg, their first game back after the winter break.

This follows the ban he also received for a match back in November.

Recently, the sought-after 28-year-old has been linked with moves to Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Dortmund did not officially confirm what the reasons were for that ban and they have not elaborated on the reasons behind this latest sanction.

The club’s sporting director Michael Zorc did admit in December that his poor time-keeping was a problem.
Aubameyang is Dortmund’s star turn, with 31 Bundesliga goals last season and 13 in 15 games so far this term.

He is been repeatedly linked with a host of clubs across Europe and speculation about his future will no doubt surface again with the transfer window open.
