    MALCOM

Arsenal are reportedly closing in on a deal for Bordeaux star Malcom, according to Express.

Arsene Wenger considers the Brazilian as the best young player in Europe and wants to sign him next summer.

However, Bordeaux are believed to be looking for more than £50 million for the Brazilian star – a fee Arsenal would be unwilling to pay.

The 20-year-old has been one of the mainstays in a struggling Bordeaux side this season, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 18 games.

    RATING: 7/10

    VERDICT

Although his club are languishing in 15th place in Ligue 1, Malcom has been taking the league by storm with his glittering footwork and passing ability.

With Alexis Sanchez set to leave the club in the next 48 hours, Malcom could inject more class in an already star-studded attack.

Although £50 million is an expensive asking price, the North London hierarchy believe a fee of £44 million could be enough to get the deal over the line.

    ANDY CARROLL

Chelsea are considering a loan move for West Ham star Andy Carroll as the club looks to bolster their attack, according to The Daily Telegraph .

Antonio Conte is currently undergoing a scoring crisis and is planning a shock move for the England international.

Ace attackers Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard have struggled in recent games, and the Blues are still bidding for their first win of the new calendar year.

Carroll – who has 18 months left on his current deal – has failed to nail down a regular spot under David Moyes and has started only three matches.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERDICT

Conte is keen to bring in back-up for striker Morata and doesn’t see Michy Batshuayi as the right man to lead the side when introduced off the bench.

The Italian needs to either fork out for a big name striker or take a gamble to relieve the pressure on Morata and Hazard.

As a short-term fix, perhaps Carroll could be their man.

    LUCAS MOURA

Lucas Moura is set to leave PSG this month amid interest from Manchester United.

The French giants are reportedly ready to cash in on the Brazilian, who has yet to make a start in the league this season – with just five appearance from the bench.

The arrival of Neymar has done nothing to increase Lucas’ hopes of staying at Parc des Princes and clubs from England are on high alert to land the 25-year-old’s signature.

Lucas registered 19 goals from 53 appearances last season but never reached the levels many believed upon his arrival in 2012 from Sao Paulo.

    RATING: 6/10

    VERDICT

After a productive 2016-17 campaign, a move to England’s north west would be a good option for Lucas as United seek another attack-minded player, to add as back-up to an already sparkling front three, featuring Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku and Jesse Lingard.
