Manchester City‘s pursuit of Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez is set to go right down to the wire on transfer deadline day.
It is understood the Premier League leaders have submitted a third offer for the Algerian, believed to be £55million (Dh285.5m), in the hope it will force Leicester’s hand to sell.
The 26-year-old, who has reportedly issued a transfer request, had made no secret of his desire to leave the Foxes and his future will be decided on Wednesday.
The sticking point over the move is likely to come down to the fee involved, with Leicester valuing Mahrez at around £75m and City having had two previous bids knocked back.
With Leroy Sane out injured for up to six weeks, Pep Guardiola is looking for reinforcements on the flanks and believes the 2016 PFA Player of the Year fits the bill.
